Join us at 15:00 PM for a discussion with UncoverED on Liberating the Classroom.
UncoverEd is an archival project nominally located at the University of Edinburgh. Guided by the biographies of alumnae/i of colour, the project aims to situate the global image of the institution within its imperial matrix.
This talk will be discussing the experience of the UncoverEd project and some of its visions moving forward. In light of the work already done or in progress, UncoverEd reflects on its contributions and implications in the wider decolonising movements in British academia. Specifically, we will reflect on the dissonance between the globalised brand of the University of Edinburgh and its imperial histories, a mismatch that produces salient contradictions in need of critique.
